Podere Calcinaia:
Your home in Tuscany
There is a time for everything; for thirty years, time at Podere Calcinaia has been marked solely by the seasons, by work in the fields and by the care of our vineyards. We were born as a farm, and in the silence of these hills we built our story, made of hard work, dedication and love for the fruits of the land. Today, after three decades lived with our feet in the furrow and our gaze turned to the vines, we decided it was time to make room for you too.
Tuscany Home was born this way, simply. It’s not a hotel, but an extension of our everyday life. We open the doors of our estate to offer you a welcome that doesn’t seek formal luxury but the truth of small things: the sound of the wind through the rows, the honest taste of a glass of wine made where you yourselves sleep, and the feeling of finally being at home. Come visit us, not as tourists but as guests of our family.
The perfect location
Podere Calcinaia is located in Certaldo, a splendid medieval village in the heart of Tuscany and the birthplace of Giovanni Boccaccio. Just a few minutes from the Podere is Certaldo Alto, the historic part of the town, preserved intact over time, which is absolutely worth a visit and can also be reached by a charming funicular.
Certaldo is about 40 kilometers north of Siena, whose historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a must-see stop during your holiday in Tuscany.
Florence, cradle of the Renaissance and the region’s capital, is only 45 kilometers to the north.
Its historic center, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous worldwide for its culture, Renaissance art, and its iconic monuments.
Other ideal destinations for a day trip are the nearby and very famous San Gimignano (only 15 km away), the Etruscan town of Volterra, and the beaches of the Tuscan coast.
